FAFSA requirement for seniors

Reported by nicole_maronde@ipsd.org on 3/11/21

NEW FOR 2020-21!
The State of Illinois now requires all Illinois public high school students to complete either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) or the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid (Alternative Application) as a prerequisite to receiving a high school diploma.
For students who choose not to file an application, a waiver may be completed by their parent and scanned/e-mailed to Julie Olson at Julie_Olson@ipsd.org.

For students/parents who have completed the FAFSA/AA, Wheatland receives confirmation of your filing but does not have access to the information that you provide. If you have filed, no further action is needed.
Assistance with filling out the FAFSA is available by calling 1-800-433-3243.
