Volunteer Opportunities

Helping Hands Make All the Difference...

The LMC actively recruits and trains many Wheatland parents to assist in a variety of ways.  Volunteers enable us to utilize the facility to its fullest extent.  It is an excellent way for you, as parents, to become involved in your child's education.  Your children also fully enjoy seeing you in the LMC helping other students when they come to visit.

Volunteer activities can include any variety of these activities listed below:

• Check in and shelve books.
• Assist students in using the computerized catalog.
• Assist students in finding books on the shelf using call numbers.
• Special projects--cutting out letters with letter machine, bulletin boards, covering books, organizing shelves, processing books to get them ready for check out.
• Use the computer for various tasks.
• Help with Book Fairs twice a year.
• Assist in record-keeping associated with reading incentive programs.
