Supported EducationDistrict 204 believes that the initial placement option for all children, with or without disabilities, should be their neighborhood school. This means that all children will have membership in a regular education classroom and will receive appropriate required I.E.P. (Individualized Educational Plan) services with regular and special educators working as a collaborative team. If a student's needs cannot be met with support at his/her neighborhood school, the educational team will determine an appropriate least restrictive placement option. A continuum of special services are available to support the education of all students, including but not limited to: Learning disabilities resource, remedial, facilitators, social work, psychological testing and resources, speech therapy, occupational and physical therapy and adaptive physical education classes are provided as related services. |
