Senior Student FAFSA Requirement

Reported by on 1/11/21

Attention Senior Families:

NEW FOR 2020-21! The State of Illinois now requires all Illinois public high school students to complete either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) ""

or the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid (Alternative Application) ""
as a prerequisite to receiving a high school diploma.

For students who choose not to file an application, a waiver "" may be completed by their parent and scanned/e-mailed to Mrs. Olson in the main office. For students/parents who have completed the FAFSA/AA, Wheatland Academy receives confirmation of your filing but does not have access to the information that you provide.

If you have filed, no further action is needed.

Assistance with filling out the FAFSA is also available by calling 1-800-433-3243, if you are not able to attend a workshop. View the PDF below for information that you will need in order to complete the FAFSA.
